Not exactly a knife but worth knowing about

I came across these a little while ago and talking about fiskars in another thread reminded me that more people should probably know about/try these. I'll be ordering a pair soon. Seems like BAMF of a household shear.

So has anyone used them yet? Thoughts?

Err... mods please feel free to move if i botched the thread placement. prob should be in "multitools". sorry :/

Looks cool, I was checking these out in different forums on the internet last week. Not very favorable reviews on Amazon and other sites. Most people say it's a good idea, with bad execution. But they can be found for around $15-$16, so maybe worth trying.

My family just picked up these scissors at an office store. First impressions: Wow it does everything! Even functions as a knife if you take it apart. In reality, if you need a knife, use a knife. It does, of course have a scissor-ground edge. If you open them too far(I have large hands and get carried away with their awesome scissoring power), the two pieces sometimes come apart. Also the rounder rope-cutting part seems to catch a bit when they open and close. The ceramic sharpener isn't great. The black blade has black coating on the blade.

In Conclusion, a must have, multi-use pair of scissors. The knife aspect is fairly useless, but i think we all have knives:D

I'm not a huge fan of plastic shears. For kitchen needs at least, these shears are pretty sweet.
