First, to the host....i can't find a proper category to place my question, so if you guys had to move it, i am sorry about it.

Hey guys, i was browsing at TAD gear, interesting stuff for survival.
I found "Proforce Survival Saw"

link: http://www.tadgear.com/edged tools/proforce_commando_saw.htm

This cutting tool look very NICE! very inexpansive and pocketable as well. Since it is so EDC in its size, i think it will be a very good tool for Self-Defense. Imagine someone attack you, you reach to your pocket, wrap it around attacker's neck......wooo, Tell them what it is, I DARE them to move at all!!

well, imaginary always work better than real situation.

My question is, has anyone ever purchase this string saw? how are they? Are they really cut wood, branch as such as good as they advertise?? Is the saw really as sharp as premium saw in the market??

I have used some of those string saws, perhaps not that exact one- and they worked ok, IIRC. They don't last very long before breaking, from my experience.

as a self defense tool, it would be as usefull as any other Garrote (not very)
-Unless you are sneaking up behind people and trying to strangle them.
