Not happy with Warranty option @ CRKT

Hi everyone;

If this isn't the place for this post, please re-direct me. I was recently given a real nice MAH Eraser folder from CRKT. It suits me real nice, hefty, solid feel and it fits my hand perfectly. This knife became my daily carry tool immediately. Recently, I jumped out of my truck and the clip got caught up in my seat belt, which snapped the clip clean below the screws. Had many clips bend and twist, but never had one snap clean.
I went online, and registered a warranty repair with CRKT and received a response 3 weeks later;
"...sorry, but we do not carry this knife anymore, discontinued. Please send it in, if you like, and we will replace it with a knife of same cost or better, if you pay the difference..."
Sadly, I like the knife, I don't want another knife, unless it's that knife with an intact clip. I really find it hard to believe that a simple '2 screw' side clip can render a whole warranty dept helpless. Is there anywhere to get clips only? Maybe a similar style of clip to use instead? What can I do to get back to my daily partnership?

Don't visualize a room in the U.S. (or anywhere else) with repairmen at tables. The knives are made overseas.
