Not having a good day...

I knew my day wasn't off to a good start when I ran over my prescription glasses while taking the dog for his early a.m. walk. I had to take them off due to fogging and I guess the fell into my lap while I was on the way to the park. I then got out, they fell under the tire and the rest is history.

Of course, this is speculation because all I could find was on cracked lens about 150 yards from where I originally parked the car. I have no idea how/where it happened

Then, to top off the morning, I slipped while getting into the shower and fell... landing on my butt. That wrenched my back really good, so now I'm contemplating a visit to the VA for some pain meds... but I HATE going there, so I'm probably going to just eat a handful of IB Profen and go back to bed.

I thought Halloween was supposed to be a "fun" day!

Later,

Alan

Now that sounds like a really crappy day. Smoke up bud. Hope your back gets better.

Aww:( That does suck. I hope your day turns around, friend. If it makes you feel any better, my wife must fall on her butt in the shower at least once a month. Luckily she was blessed with ample cushioning.

I too have killed my glasses. That always sucks. If you're blind like me, wrecking your glasses or losing a contact will just down right disable ya:(

Smoke up for a more positive All Saints Day:)

Dang Alan, I hope you feel better when you wake up. Smoke for you bro.

Sorry to hear that Alan!

Hope you feel better soon (and oh yeah, I hope tomorrows a hellava lot better!!)

Three pairs of glasses and a crappy spare . I,m ready for anything as far as that kind of mishap. Ibu does wonders . Take it easy .

Heal up soon and stay away from the pain meds if you can, the don't make you heal any faster.
Those teathers for the glasses are great and I know they have saved me many pair...

Thanks everyone. I can walk (although a bit sore) and I have my reading glasses, so I can do homework. Watching the boob tube isn't so fun, but that actually is a good thing. I might even downgrade my cable... Lord knows I could use some of that time to better use.

It is going to take a while to get replacement glasses... I gotta pay rent first. But I'll have a new pair by the end of the week for sure. I'll probably take your advice john and get some tethers... I was thinking about that already. I hate having to swap out my regular glasses for my readers, but I hate to pay for a pair of progressive lenses. I'm just too cheap :)

Later all. thanks again for the thoughts and smoke!

Alan

I just went to the eye doc for the first time.
I need reading glasses. He said just go down and get some 1.5's from the drugstore. I got a pair from him too. Insurance covered that.

Guys, get some of those shower floor non-slip decal things and stop landing on your butts!

Gotta break things as you go by in Life, and it doesn't matter whether you're a Congressman or a constable, sober, expecting, somber or high.
Even a dog doesn't get out of this without pain, and he tries harder than we do.

Bad way to start the day. I sympathize. Hopefully, it will get better (but it probably won't).

Hope today was better Alan. I know about back pain and pain meds. I have weaned myself down to 14 doses of Percocet/Apap in eighteen days when I was taking six doses a day for years. I go for injections in my back Friday so I can wean off the breakthrough Percesets if at all possible.
No doubt I'll be on the main pain meds for a long time to come, but then again maybe not.;) :)
Whatever you do take care of your back!!!! Ibbeys can be good stuff!!!! :D

Thanks again. Feeling much better this a.m. Yesterday I was pretty stiff... today, a lot better but still tweeky. I really lucked out this time.

Shappa... ironically enough, I do have those decal things in the tub (put in by the former tenant). I just stepped on the one spot that didn't have a decal on it :). I really should pay more attention.

Yvsa... good job on weaning down on the meds. They do take a toll on the body over the long haul. I'm not bad enough lately to be on them full-time, but I was several years ago. I've been able to stay off them and only resort to it when I "really" mess up. Now I just get by on a handful of IB Profen each morning. Seems that the really "good" stuff usually makes me sick :barf:. Good luck with the injections... hopefully they'll allow you to totally get off the Percecets...
