Browsing through the youtubes I came across the "Man At Arms" channel. It's a smith of no small skill who runs a shop in California and does a lot of weapons for Hollywood and for the fun of it (and the PR as well I'm sure) he makes "real" versions of fantasy weapons. Here's his take on the dwarf Gimlis' axe from Lord of the Rings.

.....and while it's not axe related my favorite project shown was where he was asked to recreate a sword from a cartoon that was made from meteor iron and he actually went and got some meteor iron to forge it with.
.....and that he already had opinions on which meteor iron he prefers working with.
