AG Russell peanut - made for AG in Seki City, Japan, VG-10 blades, fluted and pinched bolster, European red stag scales, and something I don't recall seeing before on a peanut, a Warncliffe secondary blade instead of the usual pen.

Oh yes, that is one sweet looking nut.

Thats a nice one Rob. Maybe its the blade shape, but the first thing I thought of when I looked at the picture, was an Ohta knife

I'm not normally one for peanuts, but that one there is a beauty.

Beautiful, I think I'll have to get one of those. Always liked a clip point/wharncliffe combo. Thanks for sharing.

I think I'm exited. :)

Acutally I'm very exited by that little pocket jewel.

The only thing that worries me is the placement of the nail nick so far back. Is that going to make for poor leverage in getting it open?

I'm very leary of nail nicks more than halfway back past the midpoint of the blade.

Carl.

A nut trapper...sounds painful but I like it...the knife...I like the knife. :p

That's a good point Carl. What say ye Rob about the opening pressure on this lil guy?

Also just noticed cam ended tangs. That's different for a peanut, which normally has half stops.

Beautiful... Nut Trapper? :eek::D;)

I love the secondary wharnie with swedge. VG-10... I really ought to get one later on... :D

Rob, is it really 3 7/16" as listed by AGR ? He lists a Dogleg Trapper at 3 7/16", made by the same people, as well.
Do you like it enough to feel you got good value for your money ?

Roland,

I've looked all over AG's site and I can't find the listing anywhere. Would you mind PM'ing me a link?
I would appreciate it.

I guess it could be if the spring was too stiff but the TOFRFO* on this one is fine despite the nail nick placement. It opens easily.

*(thumb opening force required for opening ;))

You are correct, sir. No half stops. I wish it had'em. I usually pause for a millisecond at the half way point when opening and pretend it's a half stop.:D

It is about 2 3/4 or so. It was on his Knife Collectors Club mail out. I don't think it is on his website yet. A little pricey maybe but as a wise man once said, "I've never seen a Brinks truck following a hearse.

That is gorgeous. I'd like one of those! My other peanuts would be terribly jealous, I'm afraid.

I didn't see that on his website. Is that current production? I like that knife. I don't own any peanut knife now and can't remember that I ever did have one.
