I’m going on close to a month carrying a SAK Executive. Love it. Perfect office/day to day suburban knife. But...over the last two weekends, Ive been adding an Alox Electrician to the other front pocket. Initially it was the Pioneer but then I decided I didn’t need the small slotted screwdriver on the can opener since I have the small slotted on the orange peeler of the Executive. No duplication for me.
More importantly Ive realized how useful a sheepsfoot blade can be. I’d say many more advantages than disadvantages. In fact, if I only carried a single blade knife, it would be a sheepsfoot. The only disadvantage in my life would be for food prep and I could still make a sheepsfoot work if I really had to. I used the Electrician today working outside. That sheepsfoot blade was great for opening bags of mulch, cutting plastic Landscape fabric, and for some scraping. The awl of the electrician helped to create some pilot holes when I was fixing some boards on my cedar garden beds.
Still settled on the Executive as my daily pocket knife...but when in jeans I may be pairing it with the Electrician or Floral Knife.
