There are two drawers below this one ... gotta fill this one first :D

See you have a puukko, SAK, lots of Opinels, sodbusters and others. Nice collection.
Can't go wrong with puukko, SAKs or Opinels.

I see you have the "sickness".

Oh well, there are worse things to have. Nice gathering of knives there!

Nice drawer full of knives. What is the small lockback with the Lansky guide rod hovering directly above it?

I was wondering how I was going to store a few and still have easy access. I looked around the forum a bit for ideas but didn't see anything I thought might work for me. I checked Craigslist for used chest of drawers or something and just decided to to convert a drawer in the entertainment center that holds my printer, for knife storage. Now if I only had a nice office chair for the computer ... shoot

I use rolling tool chests to store many of my knives. For example i have 2 that are 54" long and 41" high with a solid wood top which makes for a good work surface. Some of the drawers are deep enough to hold 'roll ups' and the flat knife storage cases fit into the shallow drawers. The finish on these is a deep highly polished blue enamel paint so they are quite attractive as living room furniture.
I have a total of 8 tool chests and 2 36 gun safes to help organize my knives.

^^^ Collections for the ages, impeccably displayed. One of those collections where you have to ask yourself, is there a finer collection? It's just that nice.

And EARL !!! :)

How are the knives mounted? They look as though they are magically suspended in ordered space and continuum ... and I could believe they just might be ;)

I found a 30s-40s craftsman oak machinist's 7-drawer. Promptly filled it with traditionals. I should have looked for an 11-drawer. :/

(Sorry to necro - I didn't see a better place to put this).

Nice collections guys

You have spare drawers Jim?! :D I'm envious, I have three bedrooms, and can barely get into any of them! :D

My "drawers" have "drawers" in them! (Hehehe) No room for knives there, I really need to find more room. Usually knives get stuck wherever they fit or I might need them, but I've been wanting an actual place to store them. I'd say my best bet (and anyone else's) is a large but portable toolbox, lockable if children are around. That way they can be transported easily if need be. I'm going to have to clear out one I'm not using at the moment and set aside a place of prominence for it.

I've done some research into classy storage options, but thus far I haven't been able to find anything I like. I've been using these little plastic drawer thingies, which I just lined with felt today:

On the plus side, they're cheap, don't take up much space, and get the job done. But I'd love to find something in wood.

Check out this wood box from Grizzly. I have one and it's very well made. They have other sizes also.
