This one isn't my usual fare, but I figured that you guys may find it interesting given the fondness we all share for the forged blade. It's a bowie, pure fighter as befits the genre's roots. 9 3/8" blade, wrought iron guard, with a stabilized claro walnut handle. The knife balances right at the plunge line.

I haven't been this awed by a knife since I got my first khukuri, a BAS, almost fifteen years ago. I can't believe how alive it seems. Truth be told, it's a bit scary. No momentary lapses in judgment, or I'll be taking a very expensive drive to the E.R. Still, this bowie has me very excited.

that is a gorgeous spirit blade you have there:) Thanks so much for sharing. Kinda reminds me of my Tirtha bowie.

Thanks guys.

If this one is half as useful as your Tirtha bowie, it'll be in very good company indeed.

Beautiful! The Bowie design is captivating. Hope to see what the kamis do with a couple of Bowie inspired designs soon.

Kesar...the Bird Bowie from almost a decade ago.

You will have to ask Auntie...it is a totally solid Bowie.

What an amazing custom knife. As soon as I saw your thread I tried to check pricing but I think Mr. Stuart Branson's knives are very, very expensive and a one of a kind type. I'm sure they are effective tools but seem more for collecting and using them would diffidently bring their value down. I could be wrong in this thinking though.
On Mr. Stuart Branson's website he has about an 8 month to a year backlog. But I am curious to know if anyone on the forum has one of those excellent knives. kamagong is that your knife and are you using it?

Yes, this is my knife. And you are right, Stuart's blades are one of a kind and made to order. As to whether or not I am using this knife, at the moment I would have to answer no. Not much call for a bowie in my everday life, especially one that is optimized as a fighter. I have other weapons I would choose first.

I did ask Stuart to make this bowie utilitarian and to choose the materials and finish accordingly. I hope I never have call to use this knife, but I do want to know it is capable should I ever need it for social purposes.

This is the knife I would send my son off to war with.

Your words are really good. It does look like a special knife and knowing how it was made your son would I sure treasure such a heirloom.
