not really spyderco related, but i spend most of my time in here, so here goes.

went museum hopping here in ottawa last week. the history museum ( in gatineau, not ottawa) had a viking exhibit. all kinds of old knives, swords, axes and stuff. I took a few pics and thought some of you might be interested to see them.

plus i had my dragonfly2 in my pocket so that kinda counts

no problem.
it was interesting for sure. When a viking died they buried them with a few essentials for their next journey. It always seemed to include a little knife.
so many of these artifacts were discovered in graves. I wondered why, at a time when resources were limited, they'd be "wasting" these tools by burying them with the dead.
then later in the exhibit it explained why.

Cool pics, love the ancient history stuff, thank you.
It seems the Norsemen all had their EDC blades.
I think I would like to have a Spyderco in my funereal pocket when I am eventually consigned to 'dust to dust'.
