Hi guys,
I have always considered victorinox knives a good all around knife, much like a stockman pattern knife, but I never could bring myself to love the red plastic like sawcut derlin, wood, or bone. So I re-handled my tinker and my other (not sure of the model. Yesterday I set out and re-handled these babies, the first (tinker with walnut) has many flaws, and eventually will re-handle my re-handle. but my second attempt (2 blade with mulberry) turned out pretty good. the mulberry was a piece of log I got from a guy who was cutting down a dead mulberry tree. It has been in the garage for about a month or two. I split it yesterday with wedges and a bif splinter broke off. Dad said it was too small to do anything with. But it looked O.K to me so I squared it and evened it up on the beltsander. It worked out great. All inletting was done with a dremel and they were atached with Devcon epoxy. I took pics all the way through the process, someday i'll get around to making a how-to document in MS word. anyway here ya go, what do ya think? My next preoject is an imperial fish knife (the pic I posted here) Just trying to decide on the wood to use.

ya'll take Care

Nice work, MM.

I have tried only one SAK rehandle so far. They're fun, I'll probably do another at some point...

thanks for the compliments guys

the next one I do will have brass bolsters, with walnut and i'm going to inlay my initials in the handle in silver. should be nice when it's finished.
Don, thanks for the sosak link, i'll check them out.
LRV, i'll email it to you when/if I get it finished
