The reason I mentioned SLIPIT is that I am really in to traditionals. 3 5/8" is considered by many the ideal slip joint length, and the bone handles are traditional too. Although, traditionals are now made with all types of handle materials, so any number of options could be considered. Spyderco might get a lot of sales from guys like me. Also, I am left handed........
I already have several Spydies and love the brand. My last purchase was a green urban soon after they came out. I have 5 or 6 others, all locking.
In general, I believe a Spydie SLIPIT with a traditional profile would open a lot of possibilities to a company with such a great reputation. They just have to make adjustments for the hole.
