I thought it was interesting. I'd never heard of a hog splitter.

Many animals , in the processing are split in two pieces.Especially for larger animals you can then handle the carcass easily. Today of course all this is done with a large bandsaw.

Yeah, it all made sense once I saw it, I had simply never thought about it. Of course I need a hog splitter now.
