How's it going guys?
Here's my latest piece. A gift for a friend and mentor who is transferring next month. This was my first time working with mother of pearl, mosaic pins, and the first time I made a bolster. The mother of pearl was great to work with on the grinder, and finished beautifully without a whole lot of effort. Drilling it was a different story though. I broke two drill bits, even after drilling pilot holes and going super light on the drill, and chipped one of the scales around the hole. Oh well, I'm still happy with the way it turned out, and I learned a lot.
5/32 O1 tool steel, 9 3/4" overall length.
Brass bolster, made from three pieces brazed together with grade 3 filler metal
Mother of pearl scales
Stainless steel and brass mosaic pins

About 30 minutes after I uploaded this, I got my polishing supplies from Jantz. So here it is polished, with all the tool marks removed :)
