i have a benchmade triage that a friend gave me and is in great condition but for some reason don't carry it much. should i sell it or just hang on to it?

How much do you like this friend? Does it hold sentimental value?

I've had a few knives gifted to me, and have only sold one, but that was because I needed cash. Things like my Benchmade Ares (Thanks, Mom!), my Case Texas Jack (Thanks Dad!) and my Opinel 8 (Thanks Kirby) will never leave. I've tried to trade the Ares, but now it's here to stay.

I would toss it into the glove compartment. Those models save lives every day...

Do you need the money? If you don't, keep it. I only sell stuff to buy something else that I REALLY want or because of some emergency (those usually cost a fair bit of money).

If your friend gave it to you and you don't want it, see if he wants it back. Otherwise I'd put it up for a giveaway here. I'd feel bad selling a gift from a friend so why not make someone else's day just a bit happier by gifting it

I noticed a few problems with the title of your post, if you'll permit me, I'll fix it for you...

My corrections in italics there. Happy to help man.

Excellent glove box emergency blade IMO, I would keep it, plus it was a gift. Personally I was raised that unless they gave you a receipt with the gift, you don't return/sell such things as a matter principle (a receipt indicates they were not sure if you would actually like/want the gift and gives you an "out").
