So this afternoon my step-father in law gave me a SOG Seal Pup Elite, nib he got but didnt want. I've got a few fixed blades but nothing that just calls to me as a go to knife primarily for fishing and hunting and maybe some light camp chores and backpacking. Or rather, nothing in this size of knife. I have a Becker BK9 for anything heavy duty.
Right now its either keep the Pup and use it, wait on the new Ka-Bar MarkI, or go with an ESEE. I've really been wanting to get me either the ESEE 3 or 4 so my question is, should I sell the Pup Elite and get me the ESEE/Ka-bar MKI?
Dont get me wrong, the Pup feels really good in hand but it just doesnt seem to fit what I really want to do with it. Or maybe it just looks to tactical. I'm not really sure but the ESEE knives are just so nice looking and seems like it would last me a lot longer.
I was also looking at some Mora knives for my fishing needs but the more I've looked at them the less I'm liking them. I will probably end up getting one but I'm thinking as long as I took care of the ESEE it would serve me well in and out of the water.
