Yup. Here we go again...
If you had to pick just one Becker to own and use for the rest of your life...
Which one would it be?
And give your 3 best reasons why.
Post a pic if you've got one.

For me, it would be the mighty BK-11.

1. I use it more than the rest of my Beckers.
2. It was my first Becker and still my favorite.
3. It's easy to wear for an extended period of time.

My old Camillus BK-5.

I've had it for over a decade, used it for a little bit of everything and it's never let me down.

It's probably my favorite knife of all; more than any other. And I have a lot of blades.

In my experience, nothing cuts better than a freshly stropped BK-5. And it's a lot tougher than many folks might realize. It's a big knife, but it's also exquisitely balanced, light, and very fast. Even more so if you put the KaBar micarta handles on it.

It's a super-sized roach belly trade knife.
It's a backwoods tanto.
It's a modern Searles Bowie.
It's the goddess of all butcher knives.
It's a short machete.
It's a stiff filet knife.
It's a meat cleaver with the soul of a rapier.
It's a magnum carving knife.
It's perfect.

oh for Becker's sake.

it's the Machax. #1 first and only knife.

unless Ethan says BK16 :)

i say otherwise :> BK4, BK5, and BK15 :D

My 14 absolutely

1) my first Becker
2) just enough blade to do a lot of things that you couldn't do with most folders (or a little neck knife)
3) I edc it and I couldn't imagine not having it on me

all that being said the 16 is a very close second for me, only reason it lost is because I can't edc it.

Cincinatti Machax -

1- never let me down in 20+ years
2-light weight for it's chopping ability
3-beats the hell out of machetes and hatchets for bow making (chopper & draw knife)

Doc

Thats a hard one as I use my BK11 more but...I would choose my BK2

1. My wife doesnt like it..
2. I will probably never break it or really hurt it
3. When I parade around my mancave with my bk2 wearing my boxer shorts and boots..I feel like He-Man (whisky whisky)

In order of which ones I use most, I can tell because they have the most coating wear,
1) BK 14
2) BK 16
3) BK 4 (the Ka Bar one is the one I use most even though I like Natti version better)
I'll never pic just one and it just comes down to what I'm most likely to have on me all the time which is the BK14.

The 7 for me. No pics.

1. Lightweight for the size and strength.
2. Just long enough for machete-style work, or when you need some reach;short enough that it's not unweildly.
3. Good carbon steel that is easily maintained.
4. Wide enough blade that I can choke up a bit(when cleaning a rabbit, for instance)

I view mine the same way I view my Toyota pick-up with the legendary 22R-E engine.
It does what it's designed to do with very little hassle or maintenance.
It simply works well and does what it's made to do.

Right now I would say the BK2.

1.) It's tough as nails(probably tougher) and I doubt through even above normal use I could kill it.
2.) It's right size to handle any task I need from a knife
3.) The ergonomics are great. It is heavy for a knife, but I really don't notice and the thick handle gives my small hands a full grip perfect for strong push cutting. It is also very well balanced in hand.

16

1) right size and feels good in the hand.
2) it does everything i need a knife to do.
3) it's the only becker i have right now.

BK2. Didn't read post, but given the title I assume it was either "What should I get next?" or "If you only had to have 1 Becker..."

BK2. Answer is always BK2.

"My wife is cheating on me, what should I do?" = BK2

"My car broke down, how do I fix it?" = BK2

"I don't know how to read!" = BK2

EDIT:

After having gone back to actually read the post, it appears I was right. To more fully comply with the intent of the OP, here are my three supporting reasons for my choice.

1. B

2. K

3. 2

All the reason you need really. BK2!!!

i thought the answer was 42..

No, that is the answer to "Life, the universe, and everything..."

In terms of knifey type questions, the answer is BK2. Wouldn't it be funny if there were something like in hexadecimal BK equaled 4? That would be awesome.

And for those that have no idea what we are talking about, that is what you get for being uncultured bounders and cads. ;)

oh.. checking the hex.. b = 11. but k doesn't work. so.. becker = 11? i like 11 more and more.. i really need to get one.

BK does signify 4 if the Beckerheads say so.

Therefore, BK-2 = 42 = The Answer to Life, The Universe, and Everything.

But the Ultimate Question is BK-9.

Now that I have discovered this, the Earth will be destroyed to make way for an intergalactic freeway.

BK15 for me, especially since the question is one Becker for life, not one knife for life.

BK15 is my current favorite, since I can use it in the field and in the kitchen. It's a great game processing knife. I've now used it to process fish, coyote, and squirrel. I've used it to trim beef tenderloin, trim venison steaks and tenderloin, cut up whole chickens (store-bought, not fresh since we're city-folk). I've also used it to split wood for kindling, general camp use, and made some traps with it. Since Ka-Bar and ESEE make some good choppers, I'd choose the BK15 out of the BK&T line of knives.

I like the BK16 a lot at the moment. I just got a 17 a week ago and it's growing on me but ever since I got the sixteen last spring I've had it on my belt or nearby in my pack.

1. I've found myself reaching first for my 16 first and not even using my BK14 which I always usually have on me and classically was my go-to knife.

2. I've been using it for kitchen stuff and after getting the hang of it....the ffg makes a great slicer and if I have only one knife then I'm gonna need to use it to cook with.

3. I can put a really great edge on it by hand. So I can keep it sharp easy but also this knife (after I made some homemade DVD case handle liners) is just about perfect in my hand and does just about everything I will ever need a knife to do in a compact, light, package (with a lot of aftermarket sheath support options).
