After getting my CSAR-T today I remember some comments that were made a year two ago when I posted this photo. Was comparing the two and it looks like the Alpha Hunter was made with the right side liner of a CSAR-T as it has the hex shaped opening for the CSAR tool kit. Haven't dug it out to verify that the drive set will fit but it looks like it would. The Alpha Hunters on Buck's website don't show this feature so was wondering if mine is a one of a kind?

I just looked at mine and it looks identicle to me. the sticker on the box is the same except for the date , mine is 11/20/2012

So current AH models all have this feature? I think mine was one of the first when they switched steels. At least I seem to recall ordering it thinking/expecting 154CM and got 12C27 instead. Noting in the catalogs mentions it and the catalog entry for the tool kit doesn't list the 277 as a model it can be used with. Wonder who else has one?

I had a hex frame as well. It seemed heavier than the newer models. I could be wrong.

The early Folding Alpha Hunters had round holes in the frame. I have two 279's and one 277 all with round holes. My two 279's are from 2004 and 2005. The 277 is from 2007 with a Bos blade. I will post a picture of my Folding Alpha Hunters.
