M1 with a firesteel loop. Double stitch, waterproof, dyed, and going out in the mail tomorrow. Carolina River Rat wanted to know about the loops and what not, so I got some turn over pics.

That is clean! Would you be willing to show the tools you use to make your sheaths? The stitching on it is incredible. It looks like you use a double needle to sew it all together. Some day I'll be that good also. (What? Can't a guy dream LOL)

Looks like I'm only missing that rolly thingy. Do you punch holes in it or drill it or something?

I have some broken needles that I punch with, and some awls that I bought when my hand was recouperating after the break. No machines, hands only. I don't drill, I used to, but what I found was after I seal it, the holes didn't close up. In the pic above, this is just after sealing, and still had wax in the holes, by punching and seperating the leather fibers, when the sealant goes on, the leather swells, closing the stitch holes up.

I'm going to be making some sheaths for the FBF 12" machete (I just got mine today, helles yeah), and I have something new in mind. A sheath that big is only going to get a single stitch, but I'm goin to reinforce it with something, um, er, new. You'll see.

Great work. I like the dye you used. I have same tools you showed, but i have to learn a looot.

You do nice work. I like where the belt loop is, the stock sheaths hang low and flop around. That looks like the perfect ride height.

Thank you all for the nice comments, they are much appreciated. Sincerely. I have assumed a posture of, simple, functional, and affordable. There are many, many people that do much better work, mine is not really special, just something I do.
