After waking up and doing some of the general housecleaning chores that needed to be done around my apartment, I decided that a trip to the river to see if the fishing's picked up at all was in order. I packed a lunch, went down to my truck and wouldn't you know it...someone stole my fishing pack out of the back of my truck. And my Mountain Dew.
Luckily they didn't take any of the rods, or the nice lantern, and luckily it was just my catfishing pack so there wasn't anything real expensive in there. It's more of the fact that I had everything in there was in there for a reason and I finally had it all set up and organized the way I wanted it:
Assorted good quality hooks, swivels, sinkers, slip floats and bobber stops, fillet knife, skinning pliers, lip grabber, needlenose pliers, nail clippers, *cough* garbage bags, baby wipes, toilet paper, hand sanitizer, and a small bottle of gold bond. *cough* Hey beats coming back missing a shirt sleeve. Plus a few odds and ends if I got bored catfishing and wanted to go for bass, trout, or crappie. I just hope they have a good time when they find that unmarked tub of stinkbait...which incidentally is the reason the pack was in the back of my truck in the first place. Hopefully they open it in their house/cardboard box/tweaker pad. :barf:
Well needless to say that kind of took the wind out of my sails as far as wanting to go fishing. Guess I should have gone yesterday. Still can't believe they took my Mountain Dew.
