...Yep, stripped the Eskabar right down to her birthday suit :D I just got it on Monday and was gonna use it more before I did anything to it, but what can I say. Did a quick wrap too until I decide how I want the handle. I'll probably go with modded Izula scales. I dig this knife a lot

I'm lovin' it!!!! Whatever that grey coating is, it won't patina at all, I had to sand mine with some 600gt sandpaper and steel wool before it took a forced patina.

The ESKabar is a phenomenal knife, what you gonna do with it first?

Dude that looks sweet!

Any patina or is that what it looks like clean?

it's alien hull metal! one of KaBar's secrets. they built the factory on top of a crash site!

Yeah that greyish undercoating is cool with me, that's how my Crewman looks too. It will probably live on my pack strap, so I might go with the Kabar TDI clip. Definitely, probably, maybe (not really sure) will go with the Izula scales, unless I find something else. I do a lot of food prep and the cord will get funky pretty quick. This will probably make one of the best lightweight backpacking knives too. Light, but hell for stout. It's the best 30 bucks I've spent in a long time!

Jasco spray on epoxy/paint remover, it bubbles up in about 15 minutes, then scrapes off pretty easy. Then I used some steel wool to finish it up.

Nice. I'm determined to get my BK2 stripped before the end of the year. Possibly my BK7 as well.
