Gang,
There is a new rule i nthe Exchange that states you have to consolidate sale, trade, etc listing into one post instead of having a separate post for each item.

Here is the rule post.

The thought behind this is that the more single postings a person makes, the faster it bumps other peoples items off the first page.

Just passing this on so's you'll all know....

Mike

(p.s. I'd advise against playing games with posting one one day, then another the next, and another the next intentionally... Just my $0.02)

If the same thread could have its title changed then it could be reused over and over. The fact i cant change the title is the reason i usually start a fresh one.If the title doesn't reflect what is in the thread then people will just pass it over.I have had many knives that just didnt get responses until they got their own thread.

if i put a knife up for sale, and it sells, i always close my thread. so for me it would be impossible to add new knives to an old thread.
.

Probably a good rule, but makes it harder to scan thread titles and find what you want.

Thanks for the notice - I probably should read the rules pages more frequently so I stay on the right side of the law.

You don't need to start a new thread to sell me your SHSH with diagonal grooved micarta handles, just PM me the details. :D

If you've got a few knives, put em all in one thread. I don't think this means we are expected to recycle old threads that may be buried several pages deep or weeks (or months) old. It's just to keep the sale forums from being congested with multiple threads by a single seller, all created on the same day or a very short time frame.

Guys, no one wants to make posting difficult. If anything, it would make it easier, especially for the good posters who list their terms in each post.

The problem is, if you post several items on the same day, that shouldn't be in several posts. If you have several items to post, don't spread them out over a week's time, coordinate what you're doing to post them together.

If anything, it should make it easier for everyone to find all your sales. And other people doing the same won't push your sales off the first page so soon, either.

Hammy, Esav Benyamin... Should we be consolidating our FS threads that are already in existance now into one main FS thread??? Or does this new rule apply only to new FS items not yet listed?

From here on out. No need to rewrite previous threads, whether live or on completed sales. That would just end up with editing them to death and maybe throwing errors in.

what they are probably referring to is the use of multiple active threads in the same exchange forum.

i would think that if you have a thread active, then decide to sell/trade some additional items, it would be fine to start that new thread.

but creating multiple threads at once in the same forum, or over a few days, with only one item in each is not allowed.

say i had 5 shba's with logo'd spine to sell. i need to put them all in one, rather than creating 5 separate threads and cloggin up the whole page.

Exactly.

You must list multiple items in one thread from now on.

Ok... So we are not restricted to one thread overall, but we need to start grouping items into less threads, and we are no longer to list multiple items at the same time or near the same time, with one each in a new thread, yes? No problemo. Thanks for the clarification, Esav Benyamin, MORIMOTOM :)

Is there a way we can make it so the thread starter is able to change the title of the thread so you are able to add to it. Otherwise you wont really know if a thread has been updated with other knives.

But I understand what you are saying. Consolidate and dont make multiple threads at once.
