Saw this on the Wicked Edge forum and wanted everyone to be aware... In one of the most recent batches there seems to be a problem w/ the stones going in in the middle... seems to mainly be the 800/1k grits. Check and see if you have the issue and if so, call Wicked Edge and they will replace (per Clay Allison). Ref. thread here. This is what the problem stones look like:

To be clear, this is not from wear but is showing on new stones. fyi

I called with my two sets of 400/600 and 800/1000 having identical problem. They sent me one set of 400/600.....in new replacement package, clear plastic wraps were virgin, untouched. I open them, warpage was worst than my old set. Repackaged, sent back with the supplied return label and a note.

Still waiting on the 800/1000 and now the unresolved replacement of 400/600.

Threads on Members with reported problems in WEP's site is kinda dead in the water. Wondering if the other guys are having similar problem with replacement as mine?

That was about 10-11 days ago you reported this issue to Clay, to which he responded

Interesting is not the word that is coming to mind for me... I'm off to meet with the crew now. Kyle should be in touch this morning to straighten out your RMA and make sure you get exactly what you need.

I am SERIOUSLY surprised that you haven't gotten replacement stones yet. They have always shipped anything out right away to me USPS priority and I get it in about 2 days no questions asked.

Yes, there appear to be multiple people having this issue... I am confident Wicked Edge will get the QC issue sorted out soon :) Why don't you call in and sort it out directly? sometimes waiting is a bad thing lol

I never realized that WickedEdge came with such thin stones! That's amazing!
Is that usual, or is this one of the problems?

This is not normal and it is an issue w/ a recent batch. :)

Yeah, they are pretty thin but actually they are around the same thickness as the stock stones on the edge pro. If it looks thinner it is because about half of the width is sitting below that plastic lip and you can't see it. I do love the stones though! They last for a LONG time, I have about 400 knives on most of mine!
