Notification for subscribed threads

I have some subscribed threads but don't use the email notification, preferring to see any new posts noted in the user CP. Would it be possible to have the option of seeing this information in the new notifications menu rather than the CP?

I can't see how this would be done, since you'd have to have a separate notification for each thread.
