Hi,

I am looking for any recommendations for a novelty knife. One that opens in a cool manner, looks cool etc. Doesn't necessarily have to be very practical. Also I am not looking to spend too much money so it would be nice to keep the recommendations at a cost of less than $40.

goto the fleamarket, im sure youll be able to find all you want for about 4 knives for $20. If you want something nicer, id look at the smith& wesson tatical knives they sell all over.

You might be able to find some of those discontinued models on the bay. There is also designs from G&G Hawk that were colab'ed with Kershaw and more recently Boker. Also check AG Russell.

Somewhere in my house, I have a Colt Revolver folder, made by United Cutlery as I recall, that uses a sort of disc/dial to deploy the blade. It's completely impractical but cool in a novelty sense. I think it's old enough to have been made in the USA, although the steel type is not stated on the packaging. I've never cut anything with it, and originally was going to give it to a friend's son when he was old enough, but never got around to it. I'm sure you could track one down for dirt cheap.

Welcome to Bladeforums.
Look at some Cold Steel products, they make a very wide variety of products. CRKT is another good option as they probably have more designers under their brand than anyone else. If all else fails, a BUDK catalog or something from United Cutlery, Frost Cutlery might do the trick. Just remember to always watch your fingers around inexpensive novelty stuff
