My wife Nichole handcrafts leather purses. This basically arose out of putting to use leather I had left over from making leggings. Too much to thow away but not really enough for me to do anything with. Her purses exhibit a very high level of craftsmanship. My involvement is mostly in the design stage what we call the cussin and discussin part. Recently she started doing something a little different on some of her purses.

The difference is in how some of the interior is treated.

This flap covers a pocket and secures with a magnet. The pocket was designed for carrying a small handgun.

These are some of her first CCW purses. She was approached with the idea by the owner of the local gunstore. He and his wife had seen some of Nichole's purses when we had a booth at the local rodeo. He wanted to carry some of her purses in his store as most of what is availabe on the market is pretty cheap imported junk. She has made three for him so far and one for our website. The handgun pocket details include a smaller pocket for a spare mag if an auto is carried and you can see the baseplate of one in the pic of ya look close. Works great for small revolvers too. One of our cussin and discussin features was that we wanted the "holster" pocket to be non gun specific, so that it fit a wide variety of handguns. Also we kind of came up with the thought that they should be "western" but not "too western" after all, not every gal is a cowchick, so we wanted to appeal to a broader market.

That's amazing :)

I especially like the one with sky blue with its matching stitching!

Thanks guys. Kaizo here's one she whipped out the other night for a friend. She wanted something small as she's going to a big show (Cowboy Christmas in Las Vegas) and was gonna being doing a lot of walking around. Lots of matching stitching and contrasting stitching. Nichole embroidered the friends initial C on the flap of the purse. Matching card wallet and the first roughout purse she's ever made.

Looks like you all found the map to the "Lost Dutchman Gold Mine". Those are really beautiful and should sell like hot cakes. Dave you'll probably have to give up knives and tack etc. and become the "purse assistant".

Thanks Paul. I think I prefer the title "Firearms Consultant".

I like those Dave, Nichole does great work. Nice blend of form and function, you can see the quality just from looking at the pictures. I'd like to show my wife these to get her opinion, looking at these from a female in Illinois.

Now that's the definition of gorgeous! If its not too much trouble please pass my complements on. :)

I think what truly makes it attractive is the bold but resonating colour selection. I really could learn a lot from that.

Thnaks guys! I'll pass it on. Here's one we delivered to the gunstore yesterday. Little different design, bigger purse, double shoulder straps instead of a crossbody style and the gun pouch is on the outside under the flap. That was a request of the gun store owner's wife. This one is the perfect example of using up our left overs. The red in this purse is buffalo and is the last of the hide that my own personal leggings were made from.

The flap is lined with 4/5oz latigo to give it some body.

nice ... I was thinking of making a satchel for my flint lock to keep wads , powder horn and spouts , lead balls , extra flints and paper cartridges etc. I couldn't follow through with the idea once my wife laughed and said i wanted a hunting purse.

Say: " Honey I want to make one just like in The Last of The Mohicans". No girly men in that outfit! Come to think of it I have one of Daniel Winkler's knives on the bench right now to make a sheath for.
