.....It's a TRICK to sell more Beckers! All this sitting around waiting when I wasn't even planning on buying a new knife in the first place, triggered my knife-buying chemicals in the brain, and I was forced...FORCED mind you, into purchasing a BK14 on Amazon.

Granted, $33 for a 14 with free 2 day shipping is hard to pass up. But still....

Now that I was arm-twisted into buying this, does anyone have a link to a guide on how to do the cool cord wrap Moose and everyone else has, and what is the best stripper (dont go for obvious jokes...thats lazy) I can get locally.

Thanks!....I think.

you should search on "cord wrap". there's about 9000 articles. yar.

also, do you have a serrated BK11 yet with micarta? amazon special only.

They set that hook and just reeled us in ... (Well some of us jumped in the boat) :D

"Gateway" knife that 14 ... more and BIGGER

I have a necker...dont think I want the Amazon special. Wasn't going to get the 14 but you guys have such cool pics of it...

One of you common posters recently mentioned some super-stripper you like that works fast but I can't remember which thread. It was a thread where someone recenty stripped a BK2 (I think). I have mechanically stripped the last few, but I think I want to go the other route this time.

Any stripper with Methylene Chloride in it is fast and very effective, use thick gloves and eye protection. Common names are Jasco Speedomatic, KrudCutter& Kleanstrip. Most of those companies make safer strippers. If you want fast make sure it has Methylene Chloride.

Oh and....

They got us. I just traded a Landi custom for a bk11 csm ....well played.....

I wrapped the handle of my BK14 for a while, but now she goes topless. ;) as far as strippers go just make sure that it says it will remove epoxy and you should be good to go with any brand.

C.Tanner, Jasco Epoxy Paint Stripper takes about 15mins, but it is evil in a can. $7 at Loawe's.

Search the ESEE Archives for Izula wrap, there is an epic thread there with more wraps than you can imagine, with howto's built in. Good read, and funny too.

The 14 was my gateway knife... I can look back at those days of old. When I used to be 'clean' Had a few folders, didn't understand the fixation with fixed blades and survival knives. Then I wanted a neck knife... And I looked at the Izula, then BK 14, and the BK 14 had a bigger blade, was cheaper, and had a better sheath and the complaint about the ESEE was the handle, which the BK 14 didn't have. Trap sprung. Hook. Line. Sinker. Now I have a 2, a 9, a few 13s, the 14. And I keep looking at the 7 and drooling thinking of ways I want to make it a project knife. Best trap I've seen yet: the 33$ gateway knife.

Now, you need to find yourself some serrated 2's and 7's.
