Now I have some kind of EZ Open affliction. You people are a terrible influence!

A couple more EZ Open models arrived today to join the one I received the other day. The one with the cutout in the middle.

Two Schatt & Morgan teardrops. One with buffalo horn, and the shield is kinda neat in that it is fitted MOP. Get some nice color in the light. Says 1 of a 100 on the main blade.

The second Schatt & Morgan teardrop was billed as ACSB scales but these seem much lighter honey colored as opposed to others I've seen that seem to be more brown/reddish in color.

Fit and finish is spot on with the EZ Open making the pull nice. Sure wish Queen would just put a little bit more work into their edge they ship with, but it's not big a deal.

The last one today is a Case single blade EZ Open Copperlock. Some very nice scroll worked bolsters, pretty scales and a unique shield. Serial numbered 021, but I've no idea out if how many. No blade wobble either. It'll need some stone work as well, but it is sharper than the S & M's. Very slim pocketable piece of gear. Would make a nice gifty to someone if needed,

All and all, heartily recommended. Really diggin' these EZ Openers!

Sorry for the long post without much to actually say. I don't get out much. LOL.

Joe

Nice ones! I really dig the equal end on the left. Got any more info on that one?

Yes sir - that one seems to have been a SFO for a vender in Oklahoma as that is the only place I found them. They must have just sold out yesterday or today cause they were in stock a couple days ago. I'm giving you the info off the site so maybe you can search for one. It is a nice knife. Happy now that I ordered two. Might not see them anymore. Dunno.

Q-99-1 GREEN JIGGED BONE HANDLE SINGLE BLADE EZ OPEN JACK. 3 5/8" CLOSED. KEYSTONE SHIELD. 420HC STAINLESS STEEL SPEAR POINT BLADE. MANUFACTURED IN 2012. $65.00 SOLD OUT!

Check out the GEC 85 page at collectorknives.net. Last time I looked he still had a few of the EZ open 85 single blade liner locks.

There are two blade non liner lock versions as well but you would have to source them on the secondary market.

Mwahhha! Our evil plan is working...

Awwww, man. There goes the credit card Justin. I'm curious though. If you do a pattern search for GEC 85, the link pic is a light colored handle version, but after you go into the page, it's the jigged bone. I like that match striker long pull too.

Going to search around a bit and see if I can find the ivory looking one.

Perhaps this will help? :D This is one of the SFO's JustinR mentions above. Single speer with LinerLock in African Blackwood. A fantastic version of the 85 if I may say.

Very nice...that's a good looking pipe as well. Always liked the smell of pipe tobacco. Decent stuff anyway. Some smells like burning rope.

All I'm seeing now tho' is the antique yellow bone scales, which is nice. I'm late to the party it seems.

Yeah that is the smooth Ivory bone version. They came out last spring if I remember correctly but you can find them for sale occasionally in our for sale section here.

Also consider that you can make any knife you choose an EZ Open if you are handy with a dremel or contact one of the many knife tinkerers on the forum. I have a GEC made JBF Champlin 85 that another member had Don Seals add an EZ Open notch on. One of my favorite knives.

EZ Open notches and matchstrike pulls are my kryptonite. If I had to choose just one knife to keep if would be the smooth ivory 85.

The Queen 11 is pretty slick too.

Then you can get into customs and mods

That ivory model is just one cool lookin' knife. Gotta find one of those.

The 2011 forum knife, (my only easy open until Glennbad finishes my TL-29 mod) is a tremendous knife.
