I just got the Gerber Mk 2 back that was stolen from me 20 years ago. I'm having my name and the saying, Fidem Meam Noto etched on the blade. I had forgotten why I had boughten it and was so happy. It was a great fighting knife but it had serrations that would cut through commo wire. The serrations were advertised to cut through helo skin but they really cut through commo wire and made it easy to strip. This cut weight down because I ditched my commo clippers and carried my Gerber. I went through at least 3 of them in one tour in VN, another in Korea. The one that lasted I took to Honduras with me and it was stolen by my brother or a freind of my brother when I came home with a serious eye injury and went in the V A hosp in my home town. I had left it at my Mom's house. I doubt that I will carry it, I have a Katz I love, a Cold Steel Recon Tanto I like, and a really nice Randall I can go to if necessary. But I humped mountains with the Gerber.
