I just happened to be perusing Bladehq, and noticed the a Fox Knives folding knife has the following description:

"The A.C.D. (Advance Combat Diver) knife is a liner lock folding knife that offers a secure secondary lock for fixed blade like performance."

So not to bring up old war wounds, but how does this compare to the Cold Steel vs. CRKT "virtual" ordeal?

I really hope they don't care anymore, because I like Cold Steel, and I don't want them to be viewed poorly because of it.

Especially not when they've just taken a huge leap into the higher levels of production knives where they are much more immersed in the more...shall we say, "discerning" community and consumer market.

I want to see them do well and keep making fantastic hard-use knives.

I wouldn't be all that surprised if it was an issue though, since the system that Fox is using looks an AWFUL lot like the LAWKS system...

Now with 50% more fixed bladey-ness!

And by the way....a folding "combat dive" knife? Oy.

Saying my wife works and saying my wife ALMOST works are two separate things. If my chihuahua had pit bull like attributes, is that the same as having a pit bull?

Now if I said my chihuahua was virtually a pit bull there's a whole can of trash talk coming my way.

If I said my chihuahua had put bull like performance, well, that's a lot of pit bull packed into a small body and peanut head but it could be possible.

It is made of N690Co though!

I love the whole "locking mechanism fixed blade performance" nonsense. When locking folders first came out, they made the same claim.

Now, you need a "secondary lock" to make that claim.

I wont believe "fixed blade performance" on a folder until someone comes out with one with a a septenary locking mechanism.

And Marcinek brings us the word of the day: septenary (thanks, I had to look that one up!) :D

Didn't have to look it up, but man I had to wait a second to remember what it meant ;)
Having a mother who is an English major has paid off a little bit more again today :D
