well guys, I just took the plunge. Just purchased a large sebenza. I've never even seen one in person, but wanted a nice knife that I could use that was also a bit different than what was in everyone else's pocket. I probably have to wait 2 days for it to be delivered, so I have time to kill. what information/links can y'all provide me so I can educate myself before it gets here. To be honest, I've always heard about the quality of CR knives, but what drew me to them was his south african heritage. my dog is native to south africa and I do a great deal of works with rhodesian ridgebacks, so it would be "cool" to have something that I use be from similar cultures.
sorry to be so long winded. I'm kinda excited. don't y'all remember your "first???"
I'm sure this will turn into a small sebenza then...?
thanks in advance,
Derek

Well dwenslen, from experience I can tell you that if you don't like the way the locking bar travels, whether it does or doesn't make enough contact with the blade, just take the knife apart and reassemble it.
From experience I've learned that the tighter the screws are, the less blade the locking bar makes contact with. This may not be true for you though. If the locking bar does not make enough contact with the blade, just give it a flick. Just once, mind you!! Every sebenza has it's own quirks and through trail and error you will find them. That's what makes a sebenza so fun. Your right thumb will be sore for a while, don't ask me why, just trust me. And one more thing, the sebenza will spoil you rotten. Every knife after the sebenza will seem weak, even so called "custom" knives. Good luck and have fun with it.
