So I previously posted a thread that ultimately ended with me buying into my FIRST Emerson knife, the SOCFK and it has landed!
After 7 grueling days it has made it home. So my first impression was GOOD CHOICE for a first Emerson! I am really liking this knife, but as with any there are some initial cons I am going to have to get used to.
SO here's the run down for the few hours I've had the knife.
Pros
-Super Ergonomic
-Comfortable in regular/reverse grip
-Thumb Disc is easy enough to use
-Pocket Clip holds nice, sits a little low, but works well for the wave.
-Size is edc/tactical friendly
-Fairly slim for the nature of the knife
-Lanyard Hole
-Of course Philips/Flat head screw construction
Cons :thumbdn:
-G10 is CRAZY grippy, good, but going to destroy a good amount of pockets.
-Pocket clip is set for tip up right hand ONLY, which is good for me, but as a general overview some may want different. [I realize the wave only works tip up]
-Clip position only allows for right hand right front pocket waving. No reverse grip waving for this knife from factory.
-Jimping is good on the top of the handle/blade, but not the best I've handled. The ergos make up for it.
-The Jimping on the Liner is SHARP. 5 minutes my Callused thumb is ripped up.
-Infamous, but staying true, the liner is sticky when waved into locking position. 2 hand closing for now. lol
-Has not happened yet, but from what I hear Loctite is in my future?
OVERALL I am really DIGGING THIS KNIFE!
