I am really tempted to get the P/M as its specs are impressive, it looks great and has the C-lock...but, I have never used a c-lock, and it seems that the knife rides high in the pocket...

Should I just get over my jonesin and stick with the Minix, or do i *need* a para?

Talk to me. :o

I have both. Let's be real. It doesn't matter what you need. What you want, matters.

Haven't yet handled a mini-Manix (had a Manix; too big and heavy), but I have two Paramilitarys, and I EDC one very frequently (particularly weekends, maybe 50% during the week).

The G-10 handle is the best, it's not heavy, and it feels considerably beefier than the Delica (which was my first Spydie over 3 years ago). Blade is long enough to do almost anything, yet not so long that it becomes a sheeple problem. Excellent design!

Edit - by the way, I originally was very skeptical about the compression lock, as I have never trusted liner locks, and had been a lockback only fan. But the compression lock on the Paramilitary is definately rock solid...no concerns whatever (and you can't disengage it with a "gorilla" grip).

I you want a thin, lightweight, high quality package, with a top of the line blade steel, GET THE PARA. i have both

nooooooooo get the mini manix it awsome trust me no regrets here the para lighter buh i find it is not as comfortable to hold at the mini manix and anyways the mini has a better lock and i think cuts better

He states that he already has the mini-m, he is just looking for a reason to get the para.

Para was the culprit for my Spyderco addiction. I love the compression lock, especially since I could easily close the knife with one hand without fearing losing some fingers. The G10 handle is very comfortable (at least in my hands), and of course the blade is hair-popping sharp. So, yes, I think you'll "need" the para ;)

The one thing I hate about my Para is that it has made me become uninterested in purchasing other models.
