Now that it's been awhile, stud lock?

I've used my stud lock mini mojo for awhile now with no problems, although it's rarely carried. I was wondering if everyone's stud locks were still running smoothly, or if anyone had run into trouble?

My friend is a pastry chef out in LA, she was so happy when she got this knife about a year ago. I always thought the ergos were weird but it was cool. Anyway she mostly uses the knife for cutting boxes open, cryo bags etc...and lately the lock has kind of rounded off leading to the knife developing slop. No major failures, yet. But she has since stopped carrying that and switched to her My Tighe.

No problems with mine. I still the think the stud lock is great. Very secury but also very accessible. You would know immediately if something were wrong with it.

I had nothing but problems with the stud lock on my Offset. It slipped every time you put pressure on the spine of the blade. I showed my buddy I could make his slip and close too and we both stopped carrying them. I am not sure if it is a problem only with the Offset or not ,but the Offset has a steep purchase and a large blade. Maybe this is what leads to the failures. All I know is this has led me not to trust the stud lock.

In the beginning I didn't like it because I was trying to close it by using 2 fingers on the stud which doesn't work as easily as I thought it would. Now that I disengage the lock with one finger it works much better but I still no likey. It's well made and all but I'd rather stick with a framelock for the most part. (Although I open my mail with a SpeedBump.)
