I have a couple Emersons I want regrinds done on.

I used to get regrinds done on my knives from Tom Krein. Now that he is not doing them any longer I was wondering if there is anyone who does something similar for less or the same price?

I know that there are a lot of knifemakers who will do that. But I am just wondering if anyone will do as good a job for less money than what most are asking.

If you know someone please post or PM me if you want to keep it private..

I was wondering the exact same thing I have a few knives I'd like to have reground and was sad when I found out Tom Krein no longer does regrind.

Yeah sad is not the word. He did fantastic work

This is horrible news for me as well. I was going to send in some knives to be reground.....let me know if there are other people that do this type of service!

Gareth Bull does some amazing regrinds.

I wouldn't send him a knife right now, do a little reading, he's backed up and not producing. Believe he just got kicked out of KGSA (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

I apologize, I have been out of the loop there. Thanks for the correction.

Whew! Thanks for the save!

See what I mean?.. who else does regrinds like Krein did? ..Not many! And ones that I contacted only want to do flat grinds (I guess becauae it is easier or that is what they are comfortable doing).

I want grinds on Emersons which are a bit fancier :)

Richard J gets my vote. He's still recuperating some, so it may take a minute, but his work is top notch and SO worth it.

Yes I used him sevral times before and I contacting him and then I saw his health problems here on the forums and now I understand why he never got back to me.

Reese Weiland who is a very well known maker and who has worked for microtech doing handground knives as well as his own customs will do regrinds. I just got a ZT 0801 back from him.
