Some here might remember me asking questions about chrome tanned inlay.
I got asked to make a sheath with an inlay from hair on boar skin, after a short and not very fruitful search I concluded I'd have to get the hide and tan it myself.
The end result is in the pic.

And one I made for the knife that skinned the pigs, this one was a sow with much shorter & finer hair

Very nice craftsmanship Brother. Love the look.

Those are very cool!!! I've got a bear hide hanging over the door. Suppose to make a pair of "wooly" chinks for a lady, she supplied the bear hide. She's tall though and George the bear not so much. I'm not sure George is big enough. Going to make lots of paper patterns for I go cutting on George.

I love the sheath without the inlay, having it there makes it that much better. The hardware and that leather really makes it stand out.

I guess I didn't mention that the knife was made by Jerry Busse specifically for a movie and that the crazy dude that asked me to make the sheaths is involved in the the making of it.

The movie is called 'Boar'... the inlay might have been a clue... and it's an Australian project... Some here might remember 'Razorback', I guess that's what the person who came up with the idea grew up on... ;)

Thank you so much for sharing. That is so awesome. I actually like the sow knife and sheath even more.

Wow! Pretty cool work, pretty cool story!

I'll be watching out for that in the big screen!
