A pair of beauties made by Yvsa that we have talked about. There are pieces of coral and turquoise in the end of each handle that doesn't show in this picture. Nicely done!

What did you think of my big red buffalo skull?
Pretty isn't He? I done the artwork myself too.
I was gonna add this to the post above, but I figured that's probably the shortest one I will ever do here,so I thought it best to leave it and do another.

Hey Cuz/Friend, How about this...I registered myself without help...The Knives are a work of Art!!! You have talents that you haven't told me about...What else can you do?...Now you can concentrate on carving me a dainty Walking Stick...With a Rose on the handle...How is that for an idea?? Thanks for letting me in on this site...WildFlower/Thelmalu

Beautiful work, Yvsa! I agree w/Bill -- Kami Sherpa will certainly want to have you return with him.

Well hi there Thelma.
I didn't know you had an interest in knives.
Thanks for the nice words.there are people who say I have many talents,it is just getting me to do them.

Sorry,I don't accept commissions for walking sticks.

Thanks guys.
These are long enough and the handles are wide enough to fit me fairly well. There is always some compromise with anything.
The nice thing about these are I can grab just one scabbard and have almost everything I need in the way of a knife.
The karda is nice and thin @ .120" and made from a CS Carbon V Red River blade.
The chakma is .187" thick, made from and old pruning shear and sharp, hard and it strikes nice sparks with a piece of flint.
I doubt that I will ever need to do that, but it was a fun project anyway.

I learned a lot about hardening with water and as time goes on I will learn some more.It is fascinating to me that the Kamis can do this repeatedly with success.it is another one of those things that is supposed to be nearly impossible to do.Even with the modern equipement we have today. It puts a whole new light on technology for some.It is kind of like the civilization thing in my signature.

I wish I could have put up all the pix but I run out of time and space. The red buffalo head is strong medicine!

Yvsa,

Very beautiful work. I hope you'll be kind enough to submit photos of any future projects that you complete. It gives the rest of us something to strive for and drool over.
