Now THIS is How You Field Test a PM2

I cry every tim.

Seriously though. As impressive a display as the PM2 put up, I died a little inside watching the blade snap...

Looks to me just a video on how you break a knife. Doesn't prove anything in my eyes.

It's how you destroy a good knife. What is that! Batonning thin small PM2 through nails in arctic conditions!? Seriously? Field testing PM2 could be skinning a whitetail or preparing camp meal. It's a small EDC knife! Some people should get the right tool the job. Small axe is what they need. Jeezzzzzz... it's exactly how NOT to test a knife.

I wouldn't subject any folder to that abuse. All of the things that made the blade fail are exactly the things that I already know would kill a knife. PM2s can be hard to find at times. It kinda' pains me to see one destroyed. Better his than mine I guess.

Meh, I don't mind his testing videos. After all they're his knives he's destroying.
It gives me some guidelines as to the upper failure limit of a few knives I use regularly. Not that I'm so dim as to not know that's something I shouldn't be doing with a fine tipped folder but it's good to know the limitations.

And I hope he's going to feed whatever that revolting mess was inside that can to the dog.

:stupid::offended::dejection: That's hard to watch. Why? This is just insane. This guy probably uses cash as TP. I've seen him just destroy thousands of dollars worth of knives. You know what's gonna happen blatantely beating on a Para. Why do it? Wasn't meant for this at all. None really are but some could handle lots of this. Does this guy have a video on the Vallotton? That beast could handle lots of prying and batoning. Probably my favorite Spyderco.

People like this don't deserve to have knives.
Looks like he can afford to replace if he wanted.
It is entirely different conversation what exactly is he proving with his vids, I mean even tanks can get destroyed under the right conditions.

It is canned meet, it is probably 100 times better than SPAM, but do you feed it to your dog (if you got one?)

When I saw what was inside the can I had to do some research on "Russian canned meat" and one of the first Google results was a whistleblower article about dog food disguised as canned meat being served to the troops.
Gross.
But then again it is probably better than Spam. ;)

He has a video on that stuff, it is some kind of canned chicken.

I have seen some of his other vids of destruction tests. the ZT survived sort of.

What's with peoples obsession of abusing knives these days? I see people doing things with their folders that I wouldn't even do with a fixed blade.

I just got my PM2, that video will give me nightmares for the next month. I'm still in Abominable Snowman on Bugs Bunny mode: I gonna hug it, and squeeze it, and love it, and .......

Seems to provide some useful info on the boundaries of abuse, and it makes some sense -- the knife is clearly not designed with tip strength as a big priority, and the steel is also tilted toward the hard, edge-holding side of the spectrum. The most concerning part for me was the lock test.
