My friend recently got a knew knife and showed it to me. It was a NRA outdoor knives. I had never heard of them so I looked them up and the products on paper seem decent. Zytel handle 440c blades but everything seemed very similar to benchmade. They have a look that looks like an axis look and knives that are Snody, Osborne and Pardue design. They even have a rescue hook.

Has anyone had any experiance with this company or its products or can anyone explain the similarities between Benchmade?

There is no NRA knife company. They are a line of Benchmade knives made for the NRA logo. Benchmade also has knives made for H&K and Harley Davidson logos.

Alright haha thank you Esav Benyamin. I was aware of the H&K line but I hadnt heard about the NRA line. Thanks for answer my question so quickly

I know you're talking about tactical-type knives, but I wanted to mention that Benchmade also had an NRA line of traditional slipjoints too; I bought a Stockman and a Canoe. Two of the best imported slipjoints I ever held. (Might be something to consider as a small backup cutter to the big NRA knife.)

thx - cpr

The NRA Outdoors series of knives were contracted through Benchmade, most if not all were imported and not actually made by Benchmade.

They were discontinued last year.

I remember those, they looked good. They were designed by Ken Steigerwalt.

Steigerwalt? I haven't looked into anything he's done, but that linky's got some very interesting elements in the designs. The Stockman had raised bolsters like a standard Canoe pattern. With that in mind, I'll have to look at these other NRA's as well.

thx - cpr
