Just got a catalog with this one on the cover. Anyone familiar with the brand and quality? Looks like a shark.

'Tiborun' means shark.

Thats a contender for the cheapest looking nastiest knife, that I've ever seen.

I'm not a fan of the NRA, and even less of a fan of this ugly knife. It looks a little like the Quartermaster Warren Thomas collaboration but with all of the cool elements removed. I guess the handle texture is cool though. Should provide decent grip if you don't fall over laughing looking at the knife.

I've studied sharks for years, so it caught my attention. Not a knife I'd buy or carry - too tactical and a bit fugly. I was more interested in the manufacturer as I'm not familiar with them.

There's a thread floating around here with strong evidence suggesting Quartermaster imports China made knives through a front company and then brands them as USA made knives...I'll see if I can find it.

Here's the thread: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1108156-Quartermaster-knives?. Certainly lots of controversy surrounding the company. There is some circumstantial evidence pointing to the China connection, but no concrete proof that I've seen. Who knows? The products are well made (at least the two most recent ones I've purchased) and customer service has been excellent for me. The quality is there, if you can put aside the secrecy and unanswered questions. While I would like to see someone representing QM join these forums and clear some of this up, I'm not losing any sleep over it. I have enough other stuff in my life to ponder and fret over. :D YMMV.

Looks pretty tempting, a cool take on a Warren Thomas design. I don't normally like serrations, but they do look damn sexy on the Tiburon.

I own the QTR-1TT and the QTR-6, solid knives. If they are Chinese, then Quartermaster has reached or surpassed the Kizer level of quality.

I like Quartermaster (but I refuse to accept their goofy leet name). Great knives at good prices. Their blade steels seem to be genuine, or close enough to not notice a difference, and their customer service is top notch. It would be cool if they had a company phone number, but I got an email response within minutes on a Saturday night, so that worked out fine. Highly circumstantial evidence does not proof make.

The thing that really gets me about this knife is the dumb decision to make it serrated. And a recurve blade? Why not also make it unable to be used by a lefty, have a tanto edge, and really cheap blade coating. It's like they stepped into my mind to make a folder I would almost completely revile.

POS knife from a company making other POS knives IMO.

Just look at the 'products' with silly shapes and even more silly movie character names.

On a par with couch ninja POS knives from Mantis.

But hey, Im sure thats just my opinion.

Everybody else feel free to buy what ever funky knife, that you like.
