A weeks ago I wrote that I've been bitten by the Kershaw bug (cash-vampire) hard! So, a question to spur a new purchase:

Does anyone have both the NRG-II (large) and the Groove? If so, how do they compare (feel in hand, etc)? I've already got a pair of Grooves, so it's not one or the other.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Best regards.

i've handled the ENER-GII and own a Groove... I find the ENER-G fits the hand very similar to the Blur... a lot smoother, with the grippy trac-tec stuff. However, I find although the ENER-GII seems more comfortable, I can get a more secure grip on the Groove because of the deep choil and flat spine. That's my $0.02.

All black ENER-G II, and that's all I've got to say. Black blade, full G-10 handle, awesome slicer. It's an incredible knife.

I've got both. Both ENER-G II's and the Groove. 2 different animals IMO. The Groove is a really beautiful knife. The fit in my (large) hands is perfect, and its a frame lock. It was very smooth opening right out of the box. The G-10 slabs give you a good grip. Good all around knife. The ENER-G's are pure slicers, and I'm partial to satin finished hollow ground blades. With a little time on the Sharpmaker, you can whittle hair! Some people have to go thru a short learning curve to get the flipping down to a science, but once you do it will fire as fast as if not faster than any SpeedSafe. It too is very smooth opening. Lee Williams' patented pseunetic opening system is really neat!

If you already have a Groove or two, I'd give the ENER-G II a go. You still might be able to find one of the Limited Editions: Black G-10 with a DLC coated blade. Its a very nice knife, but I'm partial to the original, I just love satin finished blades!

The ENER-G II, MC TIZDP and CB Shallot are seeing 99.9% of my pocket time!

Let us know what you end up with!

Both knives feel good in hand but in different ways, at least for me. The curves and contours of the Groove just give it a really secure fit. For a thin-bodied knife that makes a difference. The ENER-G II is wider side to side and fills my hand a bit more in that regard. Combine that with the fact that it's pretty slim from top to bottom and I think it's a knife that's substantial but never feels too big or too small in any one dimension. I'd definitely recommend giving the ENER-G II a shot. The opening action is really great. A different feel than the Groove but just as much fun.

Thanks to you all for the feedback. I've just put in my order.

Another cool Kershaw; Oh, when will the madness stop?

Best regards.
