Jerry tried to tell us all along...and now here's proof of the Nuclear toughness coming through.
All jokes aside after using the heck out of my BGFBM I noticed a Nuclear explosion image of sorts appearing as the coating started to wear.
After lining up blades for pics I saw the NMFSH almost appeared to be the bottom of the blast and the BGFBM contains the Mushroom cloud, pretty cool eh!

Jerry thanks for bring back the FBM its just incredible to use. It feels great to have a Battle Mistress back in rotation . Thank you Sir

That looks so awesome. I have been chopping like crazy with my BG FBM into these pine wood trunks and the black coating is starting to become smooth much like yours there, it hasn't stripped itself though. and it has a nice pine scent to it now

Have you noticed much difference in the two performance wise?

Hi Six, to me the difference between the FBM and NMFSH is the looks, they both work so well at chopping, battoning and holding a sharp edge. Both split wood like a champ and take a serious beating with no little affect, and if any its a tiny rolled edge when I miss and hit a rock, a few laps on the Steele and its back to razor. To me these are just tools to help me do a job easier and they do that very well. I had sold my CGFBM years ago when the NMFSH arrived because to me the NMFSH was "The One".
I could care less about the steel type (SR101 or INFI), its the FBM design I was interested in. It is an all around performer. I also noticed that I do not get nearly as much reverb back into my hand when batoning logs with the FBM, almost none at all, this is a huge design plus for me. The BG FBM weight, balance, aesthetics and overall feel are a 12 in my book.
The FBM pictured has helped prepare my firewood and kindling this entire season. I could go on and on how awesome it is, just get one when you can and use, you will appreciate it even more.
-Cheers!

Those look fantastic. I cannot wait for honest patina to form on my Busse(s).
