Is this still a one dealer exclusive? Is that going to be the situation for ever and ever? If so, why?

It is a deal exclusive. As to why, thats how CRK does business. I have a couple CRK's that are exclusives to certain companies. For instance, you can only get a dog paws sebenza from Plaza Cutlery ( great people to deal with ). Most times, the dealer aproaches CRK asking them to make an exclusive. CRK decides if its do-able. The rest is history. I see no problems with it. CRK sets the price, so the company cannot sell it for what they want, so your not overpaying.

Yeah I'm sure they're top notch, but the fact that there's only one dealer stocking em means there are going to be a lot less on the secondary market, which is where I do most of my shopping. ;)

Guess I might have to settle for a reg'lar ol' Nummie in that case... unless I get lucky.

The new wharncliff has only been offered in 50 pcs. so far and i seen 2 forsale on the secondary market the first week.

Personally, i have seen only one tanto zaan on the secondary market....Does that mean anything ?

Neil, the onwer, told me he sells 10 tantos for every regular. The shipping is

$25 to the US so thats probably a big part of the ratio....as apposed to to

free shipping is the US.

Can someone shoot me a PM with more info? Can't seem to find this tanto or wharny. EDIT: Thanks for the replies, you guys rock!

I recently spoke to Larry Amoruso of Three Little Indians in New York, and he told me the only unpleasant story I've ever heard about CRK. Larry said that he met Chris Reeve at a show, and approached him about working on some exclusives together. Apparently Chris responded very rudely, claiming that he "didn't know him" and therefore wouldn't consider doing any exclusives for Three Little Indians. TLI may not be one of the big online retailers, but it's by far the most respected knife shop in New York, and Larry does plenty of military, federal, and local LE contracts. In fact, the evening I spoke to him, there were two groups of Marines and West Point cadets hanging out in the cigar lounge. Larry has done exclusives and collaborations with many makers, including Strider, Doucette, and Duncan. We shouldn't judge anyone by just one instance, but Chris's attitude towards TLI was just a little bit on the unpleasant side.

Still love his knives, though. My Seb is and will probably always be my favorite.

Have you ever seen the sign " we reserve the right to refuse service"

Little indian should be speaking for himself if he has a problem....registered user with low post count does not help....looks bad IMO.

I remember when little indian was starting out and had a ton of old skool pics of a makers knives posted for sale and when i called him he didnt actually have the knives....what would you call that ?.

And i wouldnt brag about doing biz with brad duncan.:D

Hey, I'm not saying I don't like CRK, just relaying a story I heard about Chris's attitude about exclusives. Maybe things were different when Three Little Indians was "starting out", because I only just recently heard of them from nycdave212 on YouTube. As far as I could tell, pretty much every knife on the website could be found somewhere in the shop or in one of the cases in the cigar lounge- from the $30 Kershaws to the $1200 Strider customs. Larry was even gracious enough to give my Seb a quick touch-up on a V-Sharp, as I had just recently dulled the blade and had to rush off to another appointment.

Larry made it clear to me that he respects Chris's work, he was just put off by his attitude that one time. He would still be glad to talk to Chris again to discuss the possibility of some collaborations. I think that's a fair point of view, don't you?

And yeah, I'm a new guy here, but if you bothered to take a look at the few posts and comments I have made, you'd see that they're not only well-informed, reasonable, and interesting, but that I'm also a huge fan of CRK. I've heard about the "you're new here, you must not know anything" attitude on BF before, but I suppose I was just lucky that I didn't have to experience it until now. Just because you've been around longer doesn't make you any more "right" than me.

I'm sure your a great poster...I'm just a dumb Carpenter. :D

Here's sum good readin for you :D (hope it helps) http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=529246

And seriously..Welcome, i can always learn something new  :)

Mark, I kinda think you may be on the right track.

But after reno'ing with my brother-in-law who is a carpenter, he sure seems like a rocket surgeon to a dumb old gas plant operator/wannabe-fire-dork like me.

No disrespect pink, but until now I've never neard of 3 Indians, but I know I've heard of True North Knives and Plaza Cutlery many times before. And had nothing but sterling service from Niel at TNK. If there ever was a dealer to do an exclusive with, I can't imagine a peer of the quality of TNK or Plaza. From the volume of internet traffic I would guess they sell probably 10 times the CRK product by accident, as 3 Indians ever will on purpose.

I would be very cautious about relaying the story you just did and placing alot of stock in it, without knowing first hand how the discussion actually took place and in what context. The little contact I've had with Anne and Chris, makes you wish there was more people like them to do business and correspond with.
