We had been talking to GEC about a medium barlow on the #78 frame for some time. But generally they like to run several hundred of a frame thru when they do a production run, to get economy of scale. So, when the BladeForums knife came along I got my call that we were good to go and I put my stamp of approval on the new #77 frame. At that point Charlie's Washington came into focus as well and turned a small SFO into a fairly larger run of solely SFO's but three distinct knives.
I agree, it is difficult to know all the places to look to stay privy to all the information.
GEC's website does a fairly good job of listing their schedule, and even better job at showing what is in the pipeline on the right side of their pages. But many distributors also keep a schedule up to date, such as mine under "
GEC Schedule" on the site that will list every knife we will have access.
The hard core folks around here not only know every location that hides the trail of crumbs, but they keep them a closely guarded secret
