Can anyone tell me how to read the numbers on the inside of a sebenza handle or what they mean. I may acquire a regular sebbie but no box or b-day card. I was wondering if I could determine when the knife was made with these numbers. Thanks.
They are a code for production of the parts rather than the knife as a whole. ABCD denotes the year in quarters and the numbers are the last two digits of the actual year. For example "A00" would be a handle slab made in the first 3 months of the year 2000. The birthday card will tell you the date the pices were assembled into a complete knife.
