How many folders do you own, including custom models? Myself, it is way beyond 100, and I have no customs yet.:p

I was up around four dozen when I decided that I should keep only the ones I might actually use. Now I'm down to just under twenty. Strangely, I think I'm actually happier this way.

I own four folders. Two slipjoints, one lockback and one Linerlock. I have been moving over to fixed blades in tha last year or so. In that time I have sold or given away eight folders and picked up five fixed blades with four more coming.

I too am a Case collector, and over 80 Case knives alone. I counted almost a year ago, but I am too scared to count now. Probably about 200 or so. I love knives, what can I say.

:D

Had to look. More than I thought, and more than I need.
14. 4 SAKs, 2 Emersons, 2 BMs, 1 CRK, a CRKT a buddy gave me, a stockman my granddad gave me, an old Ulster Boy Scout knife, and a pair of DDR customs.
Got an Axis AFCK preordered, and another DDR EDC coming when it's done:D
..and then I'm done....really:rolleyes:

These "how many threads" really depress me :D (na not really).

I am a Case and antique collector as well as a custom collector.
During the last few years I have "whittled down" my factory slipjoint collection to around 250 knives, from a high of about 600. At any given time, there are about 50 of those that are lent out to several custom makers to study. A lot of folks make fun of these types of knives, but they are fun to collect and with care can make very sound investments. Around here it is not that unusual to find great deals at garage sales and flea markets.

My lastest find was a mint Case XX red bone 4 blade Congress (6488). The knife has a very conservative worth of 300.00 dollars. I picked it up at a garage sale here in Atlanta for 2.50 this summer. At the same sale I picked up a stag 2 blade XX canoe not quite as minty due to some patina for the same whopping price of 2.50.

Seems like I buy a new folder about every two weeks or so, and often I'll buy more than one at a time. Of course, that may change now that I own a Sebenza. I'll have to really save my money if I want to ever buy a folder that comes close. I'm ruined. But to answer your question, I currently own about 200-250 folders.

With makers like Strider, Mission and Pat Crawford out there, why do you NEED to own a lot of folders? I have four, including my Swiss Army Knife, but not including my multi-tool.
