Number of knives is a sprint

Im curious about sprint runs and wonder if anyone knows how many knives are made while doing a sprint run? For example the PM2 how many M390 knives were made? Is it the same for each sprint?

No, it is not the same number for each Sprint Run. The first Carbon Fiber Military was only 400 pieces, the BG-42 Sprint was 1500. 600 and 1200 piece runs seem to be the most common. I don't pay any attention to the PM2, so I can't help with the numbers on the M390 run. Also, in addition to Sprint Runs (which are a one and done from Spyderco) there are Dealer and Distributor Exclusives. These are commissioned by a Dealer or Distributor and sold exclusively through them. If the Dealer or Distributor wishes to, they can have more made. I know there were at least two runs of black ZDP-189 Calypso Jr knives made for the Distributor Moteng, and I believe Knifeworks has done a second run of some of their exclusives.

I don't know but I wish they would, by mistake, make another run of Para 2 natural G10 with M4 . . . accidental like . . . so I could get one at a realistic price. Technically not a "Sprint Run" but hey when we are making "mistakes" anything goes.

Well you know they do turn up on here for sale at pretty reasonable prices on a regular basis.

Any yeah; it's awesome!

PM2 in M390 is not a Sprint Run. It was a Exclusive and 3 times I believe Bento Box ran it and not sure if amounts are limited. Sprint Runs usually 900 or 1200 since I've been collecting Spyderco.

BHQ are the only ones that can have a another run of those done.. I remember reading a post from BHQ that their would absolutely positively be no more runs of that model made..one and done.

They could change their minds and break that but they'd probably get a lot of heat?

Not sure what you consider a reasonable price? But if you can pick a BNIB one for $200 to $220 or a slightly used one in the $190 to $180 range that would be, to me at least, be reasonable.

Cool Jade scales/excellent M4 blade steel and the fact its a Para2, which almost has a cult following..assuming no more are made the prices you pay today might seem dirt cheap years down the road.
