Hello all,
first post in The CRK forum, but I have owned CRK for 15 or so years.
My question is I recently came into 2 early reeves, one a Jereboam w/ 9 inch sawteeth blade, #365 and stamped made in South africa and second a large sebenza marked P116 it has a polished blade and grey Ti handles.

I am wondering if anyone knows when they were made, and also approximate worth on them. They are both in new cond, but no boxes or the cards for them. Unfortuneatley I think I have to sell. But I still have a few others :D
thanks for any help guys and gals,
Chris

BTW please email me at panzer075@nycap.rr.com aol account doesnt always work so well

I have just done a search on Chris Reeves Jereboam and this thread came up, the reason I started the search was because I have a Chris Reeves Jereboam MK1 with about 9" blade and sawteeth on the back, it has a clip point and black(I think it's called Parkerised?) hollow handle and serial number is 15, I still have the box and the papers that it came with.

I bought it from Framar Shooting world (England that is) in about 1990 (ish) and am interested in it's current value.

Any ideas?

Ta muchly, Scott.

Hi Scott,

nice knife you have got ! Is it really mint or has it been used (Low production number) What does the stamp (or isn`t there a stamp) on the blade say ? Made in South Africa ? If so, I personally would give about 350 Euros for it, this would be 450 Dollars, I guess.
I have got a MK IV with a sawback, very nice one, used and bought it for 350 Dollars.

all the best,

Hi Jens
Sorry about the late reply but I am not what you would call a frequent user of this forum so missed this thread coming up again.

It's not one of the South African ones as it says MADE IN USA on the blade, I would describe it as mint condition as it's never been used.

It has a hexagonal butcap and weirdly enough the sheath is made in South Africa (it says on the beltloop just above the popper button thing).

it has all the paperwork that it had when I bought it (one about knife care and the other that says what kind of knife it is.

The serial number is 15 and the paperwork says the date was May the 10th 1991.

Still interested?

Scott (England)

Hi Scott,

the numbering sometimes seems to be confusing......
But if there is #15 and "Made in USA" on the blade it definitely means that it is one of the first ones they have made in their new home country.
When Chris started making knives in the USA, he started the numbering, too.

In the meantime I could get a Jereboam MK1 with the number 533, made in SA and this one is one of the last ones they have made there, they numbered up to 537. This is what Anne Reeve wrote me. They flew to the USA on March 7, 1989.

I could be interested in your knife, but I have to see the grinding. I now recognized that there are two different kinds of blades. So please send me a pic.
