Recently I was lucky to find and purchase long-discontinued and long-craved SOG Stingray S17 (cocobolo handles). Probably, overpaid a bit, but still very happy.
My knife has a number 253 stamped on the bolster. So far as I know, not all S17s had numbers.
Is this a limited adition and, if so, how the knife is different from the regular S17?

Thanks a lot for your help.

It is a limited edition. The regular production has Kraton rubber handles. I think there were 500 of these made about 15 years ago.

Thanks, Chris.
The reason for my question was that during my search for the knife I found a picture of S17 with a clean bolster. So I thought, as long as it's also with cocbolo handles, there should be some difference between serialized and non-serialized knives.
