hi everyone, i have a question about a recent military lefty i recently obtained. the blade has "045V" engraved next the the spyder on the blade. What does this mean?

Spyderco has a "Collector's Club" you can sign up for to receive each model as they come out. If you sign up, you get a number, and each model you receive is marked with the number. You got Mr. 45's model :)

so is this a rare knife? sorry for my lack of knowledge, i just started getting into spydercos

No in fact most prefer non numbered blades.

Some people simply don't want any extra writing on the blade. It doesn't affect performance either way. The only way it will add value is if you find someone trying to collect all the knives with that particular number. Not very likely, but stranger things have happened.

There are a number of dealers who maintain Collector's Club numbers, just to ensure that they will get at least a few of every variation that comes out.
